Photo Elements 11

Yesterday, I was reading this article which is written in French. Right now, I am just trying a better camera than what I have but, before going to Photoshop, I am thinking more and more to simply buy Elements for the little retouching that I currently do on my pictures.

Update on this blog / Mise-au-point sur ce blogue

                Where do I start? Even if you are only a very few that might following you, I feel that I let you down a little in the past two weeks and, for that, I am sorry. I was reflecting on the direction that blog should take. Since I have been back to work in May, it has almost became a duty for me to continue publishing my weekly photo and blogging and it wasn’t fun anymore. Don’t worry because I don’t want to stop though you might not receive on a scheduled basis for now. You might see a lot less photos from me but I will continue to post articles on photography that I find interesting and might interest you. Sometimes, I will also start giving me my opinion or simply my thoughts on podcasts that I watch or listen to and are related to photography. In fact, I might be more active than before but feel freer with my time because I will write this blog when I feel I have something to say. I hope you won’t stop reading me and keep on shooting…

            Par où je commence? Même si vous êtes très peu à me suivre, je sens que je vous ai laissé un peu tombé dans les deux dernières semaines et, pour cela, je suis désolé. Je réfléchissais à la direction que ce blogue devrait prendre. Depuis que je suis retourné au travail en Mai, c’était devenu un devoir pour moi de publier une photo hebdomadaire et de continuer ce blogue et je n’y prenais plus de plaisirs. L’idée d’arrêter ne m’a jamais effleuré alors ne vous en faites pas mais je ne vais plus publier sur une base périodique pour l’instant. Vous verrez moins de photos de ma part mais je vais continuer à publier des articles que je trouve intéressant et qui peuvent vous intéresser. Parfois, je vais aussi vous donner mon opinion or simplement mes idées sur une baladodiffusion que j’aurais vu ou écouter et qui est reliée à la photographie. Il est possible que je sois plus actif que je l’étais mais je vais reprendre une certaine liberté avec mon horaire parce que je vais continuer d’écrire ce blogue quand je vais ressentir que j’ai quelque chose à dire. J’espère que vous allez continuer de me lire et n’arrêtez pas de photographier…

Olympic Stadium - Weekly / Hebdomadaire

I was looking at my pictures trying to find one that would represent the Olympics that officially started tonight. In 1976, the summer Olympics were in Montreal and a stadium was build for the games. Part of it was finished after the games and this is the highest part of the stadium.

Je cherchais dans mes photos en tentant d'en trouver une qui représentait les Olympiques qui ont officiellement débuté ce soir. En 1976, les Olympiques d'été était à Montréal et un stade a été bâti pour les jeux. Une partie a été terminé après les jeux and ceci est la partie la plus haute du stade.

Morpho - Weekly / Hebdomadaire

Like I already mentioned, once an year at the Montreal Botanical Garden, there is a butterflies exposition. I go every three to four years and come back with over 100 pictures each time. Some of them are good and some of them are bad but this one is very good in my perspective so this is why I decided to show it this week.

Comme je l'ai déjà mentionné auparavant, une fois par année au Jardin Botanique de Montréal, il y a une exposition de papillons. J'y vais à tous les trois ou quatre ans and je reviens avec plus de 100 photos chaque fois. Quelques-unes sont bonnes and d'autres sont mauvaises mais celle-ci est très bonne selon moi et c'est pour cela que j'ai décidé de vous la montrer cette semaine.

Each time I look at that picture, I feel like a scout looking at an European medieval castle. I never set foot in Europe so that picture was taken at the now closed Quebec zoo.

Frozen Time - Weekly / Hebdomadaire

This might not be my best picture but it is my most recent shot. I wanted to share it to show that, sometimes, you get the inspiration anywhere. I simply look at the clock we have in the bathroom and I wanted to take a picture of it for some unknown reason. This is the picture I got.

Ceci n'est peut-être pas ma meilleure photo mais c'est ma plus récente. Je voulais la partager pour vous montrer que, parfois, vous êtes inspirés n'importe où. J'ai simplement regardé l'horloge que nous avons dans la chambre de bain et je désirais prendre une photo de cette dernière pour une raison que j'ignore. C'est la photo que j'ai obtenue.

I just finished reading this book yesterday but it is written in French. The book is interesting enough for people that want to learn more about Nature photography. Most pictures are good enough and some are spectular. Some of the recommandations are repetitive and the fact that the author specified the name of the companies from which you should buy equipment might rebute some readers. It is a short book (about 150 pages) so you can read quickly. You will find the author web site below.
